Black Tie specialise in the buying, selling and restoration of fine antique silk top hats and stock a range of antique hats year-round.

We source only the best hats and in usable sizes by today’s standards (generally from 6 7/8ths upwards). Prices for silk top hats obviously differ greatly depending on age, origin, condition and size, but expect prices to start at £800 for smaller sizes. Due to the rarity and cost of these items we do not sell them through our website but information and prices for individual hats can be provided upon request.

Black Tie also offer a series of modern alternatives to our antique silk top hat range, and there is no finer substitute than the melusine fur felt top hat. Melusine is a unique long-haired fur felt which provides the closest possible look to an antique silk top hat.
